Plex imported some opera albums with the tracks in the wrong order--I can't play an opera from beginning to end, which is what I want to do. I have checked help and can't seem to find anything on how to reorder the tracks. All suggestions appreciated.

No, quite the opposite. Too many track numbers
This opera is on 3 discs. Plex seems to have imported only discs 2 and 3 from my iTunes library, leaving disc 1 still in iTunes. That's one problem; how do I get Plex to import Disc 1 also? Is there an easy way to get a CD directly into Plex withoug going through iTunes? These discs are all legal, purchased by me.
I guess Plex also adopted the track numbers from each of the 2 discs, so I have 2 Track 1s, 2 Track 2s, etc. The order of tracks is correct from each disc, but the tracks have been ordered numerically, so I have to figure out how to get all the Disc 2 tracks together in the correct order and all the Disc 3 tracks together as well
To say nothing of getting the Disc 1 tracks in too--which Plex will presumably interleave in numerical order as well. So I will have 3 Track 1s, 3 Track 2s, etc. Aaaargh!
I guess the moral of this story is don't buy multi-disc CDs, but in the meantime, if you have any suggestions about how I can play this opera correctly in sequence, I sure would be pathetically grateful.
I forgot to add: Plex also thinks this is an entirely different version of this opera, performed by different artists--it collected the wrong album cover. That's probably an entirely different problem from the track order problems, and maybe minor, but I thought I'd mention it.
Maybe I should also add that this opera is filed as 3 different discs in iTunes, with the tracks all in correct order, so presumably Plex should have recognized that and done the same instead of leaving out one disc altogether and conflating the track numbers of the other two.
I usually like to have all tracks together in one single album, regardless of how many CD's there are in the album.
In order to get this I assign new numbers to the tracks. For example tracks 1-12 are from CD 1, 13-26 from CD 2 and so on.
So I can merge all CD's into one album and the tracks are still in the right order. It's a bit of work but with a tag-editor it can be done quite easily.
There is a file structure / file naming convention that you should follow when adding music to Plex libraries.

Unfortunately at the moment Plex doesn't work exactly like described on the support pages. A working example would look like this one:
../ / Artist - Albumtitle / TrackNumber TrackTitle.ext

I know this question has been answered already but I thought it would be useful to expand a little for the benefit of people who are not used to MP3 tags.
Using the example of the 3 disk opera set (or any set of MP3 or M4A files that you want to keep together and in a particular order) I’d suggest this approach:
- Download a decent tag editor. Mp3 Tag Express and MP3Tag are both very good, the first one is free and the latter very cheap.
- Open the tag editor and drag the music files into it in the order that you need
- Once they’re in the right order replace all the existing track numbers with a new set. Where each of the opera CDs might have had tracks 1-10 with the result that the consolidated list goes 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,1,2,3,4, etc you replace them with a continuous set of numbers from 1-30. This is vital since Plex uses track numbers to order files within folders.
- While you’re there, check that all the other tags are in place. The essential ones are Title, Artist, Album, Album Artist and of course, Track Number - all required for Plex to know that all 30 tracks for one album.
- Create a Music folder and put the music files into a hierarchy of folders that makes sense to you
- Import the Music folder into your Music library. Make sure you tick the box to use embedded data.
- Open your Music library in Plex, select List view and Folder view. If you select the folder with the opera set the tracks should be in the correct order.
- From here you can select all 30 tracks and make a playlist for that particular opera.
There is absolutely no need to create a playlist if all you want to do is to play all tracks in an album in the original order.
