How to set label restrictions on a single library?

Server Version#: 1.19.3.2852
Player Version#: Plex Web 4.30.2

I have a library called “TV Shows” and some of the shows are labelled “Kids” and I use this label to restrict what my kids can see from their Managed user account. From the configuration of the user account I set that they can only see TV series content labelled as “Kids”.

I newly got an HDHomeRUN and created a new library to keep the live DTV recordings. I gave access to this new library to my kids’ managed user account but they cannot see any of the recordings. It seems like the restriction on the “Kids” label applies not only to the “TV Shows” library but on all libraries of that type (tv series) including my “Recordings” library. Therefore I would need to label all recordings after the fact which is something I would not do.

Is there a way I could apply restrictions per library instead of per type? Or is there another way to achieve what I described above?

Thanks.

That’s correct. The restrictions like labels work on a per media kind basis (e.g. for tv shows vs. movies), not individual libraries.

If you have them set up as managed users you can also set a restriction profile (e.g. younger kid, older kid, teen) instead of manually assigning labels
