Restrictions on authorized libraries for a managed account

Hi all,

I have created a managed account for my kid today but I’m facing an issue.

I’d like to share three different libraries, two of them without any restriction and some restrictions based on label for the third.

As the restriction tab/menu is not dedicated per library I have the feeling that it is not possible to have a restriction for a single library in this configuration.

Is this assumption correct ? Am I missing something ?

Thanks in advance.

What kind of library (TV, Movie, Music, …) is the one you want restrictions on?

And what restrictions do you want on said library?

The library I want to put restrictions on is a “Movie” type.

The restriction I have set is something like tag=“family”.

But I’d like to put this restriction only on one library and let other ones (also of “Movie” type) without any.

Restrictions can only be applied per library type, not individual libraries.
You could either whitelist all items from your main library (and only the ones you want to share from the second library) or blacklist all items you don’t want to share from the second library („not family-friendly“).

This is indeed the approach I have tried (full whitelist on main library), but there are several downsides doing so :

  • Each time you add a new resource to the library fully whitelisted you have to add the appropriate label on it to take it into account.

  • When you fully whitelist a library by applying a label on each resource, the managed account doesn’t have the collections properly set. They also require to be whitelisted to appear, bringing the same rigidity as first point for collections.

I ended up managing this at folder level and created additonnal libraries depending on the scope I want to expose/share.

Thanks for your feedback.
