Is it possible to change the storage location for Sync storage in Windows, using the Plex Media Player?
I see that it is storing it in C:\Users[username]\AppData\Local\Packages\CAF9E577.Plex_aam28m9va5cke
My C:\ drive doesn’t have a lot of storage, so I’d prefer to store it on another drive. With other Plex clients I am able to change the storage location (like the one for Android or the one from the Microsoft Store). Can I do this with the Plex Media Player client?
PMP doesn’t support syncing at all.

So I have to use the Plex app from the Microsoft Store that’s broken?

Unfortunately, yes.
The Sync function is called ‘Mobile Sync’ because it is intended for phones and tablet devices.
A Windows computer getting the ability was just a side effect of the Windows ‘app store app’ (which was written for phones abd tablets in the first place).
Do I understand correctly… if I want to use my Windows Desktop as an HTPC with Mobile Sync storage that I can access with my laptop as a controller, I need to install:
On my receiver (HTPC) device:
- Plex Media Player (or use the Plex Web App in Chrome) to act as a receiver
- Plex Media Server to facilitate the receiver-controller connection
- Plex app from the Microsoft Store to handle the Mobile Sync
?

Mobile Sync cannot be used on a Laptop.
It is for phones and tablets.
I don’t understand…
My HTPC is a Windows 10 machine running the Plex app that has Mobile Sync…

Yes, and that is kinda a ‘lucky accident’. It is only possible with this one app.
If you use a different app, (like PMP) then syncing is not possible.
Got it. Well, that’s a huge bummer because my Internet speed is not fast enough to my remote server to maintain consistent streaming quality and I really wanted to maintain a local Sync to prevent that.
So now I have to pick between being able to control my HTPC with my laptop (by using PMP on my HTPC), and having a local Sync on my HTPC (by using the Plex app from the Microsoft Store on my HTPC).
Sigh…
Plex Ninja? (really…you need more training
)your wrong Sir. it does and it stores the movies on the laptop. unfornatley you can’t use Plex to watch them offline with the Plex player. So I just use VLC to watch them
