How to stop Plex to request metadata for a few TV Series all the time?

I have 3 tv series, they got requested at every plex media scanner scan/refresh which I’m triggering per “other” directories…

GUI: Requesting metadata for ‘Bogyó és Babóca’
GUI: Requesting metadata for ‘Castlevania’
GUI: Requesting metadata for ‘The Most Dangerous Ways to Shool’

How can I stop this?
Plexignore doesn’t work for them as well.
All this 3 folders got refreshed all the time.

Thanks!

Bogyó és Babóca is TV: http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=207921&lid=19
Castlevania is a movie, not TV: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt6517102/ , Castlevania (2017) should be its name.

I suggest you verify you do not have any embedded metadata in the files themselves. MP4 files with incorrect names / tags will cause the condition you are seeing. PMS reads MP4 tag information and uses it. If there is no tag information, PMS uses the file name exclusively.

It is a TV show as well, now

Go to Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheTVDB
In there, grab the line ‘Local Media Assets’ with your mouse and drag it downwards, so it ends up being at the bottom of the stack of active agents.
Repeat the same under
Settings - Server - Agents - Shows - TheMovieDatabase

  1. Look up your show on TheTVDB
  2. Take the title as it is used on TheTVDB. If there is something in parentheses, take that too. If the title contains invalid characters (depends on your file system), like § : % *, simply leave them out.
  3. Check the naming and the folder structure of your show. Name the top folder of the show exactly after the title on TheTVDB. No abbreviations. No additional subfolders. No aliases.
  4. Name the episode files according to the above linked naming guide. Use the same title as for the top folder. Show's Title - s01e01 - additional info.ext (‘- additional info’ can be left out)
  5. After you corrected the naming and folder structure, perform the Plex Dance with all files for this show.
