How to store movies on Plex

I have a Synology server, 5 bay, 8TB in each for a total of 40TB of space and have a few apps installed including Plex. In general, I like to store things in folders so they are organized and easy to find. However, I am confused about how to save all my movies on Synology under Plex?

I like to organize things in folders so I have been creating a folder for various categories like ‘comedy’, ‘drama’, ‘documentaries’, etc. I have also created sub-folders within some of those folders mainly the documentaries so it may have a folder named ‘music’ and one ‘the environment’ etc. I then have moved the movies into their respective folders.

Is this the correct way to do it?

Also, how come even I followed the correct syntax for the movie location such as /Movies/Braveheart (1995)/Braveheart (1995).mp4 it still messes up the date and puts today’s date on place?

Finally, is mp4 the best format to use for a movie?
