How to uninstall Plex completely from my Synology NAS?

Hello,

… how to uninstall Plex completely from my Synology NAS?

I was able to uninstall the application itself but there is still a shared folder called “Plex” with description “Plex Media Library”.

Can I delete this shared folder? What does this folder contain? Only the database or source files (which I do not believe)?

This file is about 7 GB and the weight of all my audio / video source files is about 2.5 TB.

I do not know what is this 7 GB folder and I would like not to delete source files.

Thank you for your recommendations.

  1. Uninstall the app in Package Center
  2. Control Panel - Users - Delete user - Plex
  3. Control Panel - Shared Folders - Delete the Plex share.

Now Plex and all support mechanisms have been completely removed

ChuckPA, trmpy81, thank you very much for your help and for the confirmation of the files to be deleted.
Thank you.

Hi

First of all, sorry for my english
I have installed first Plex from Synology application portal.
Then I saw an update was available. I downloaded the package and manually installed it.

Then, I tried to add a directory in the library but without success.
I decided to uninstall plex (from the application portal button).

From that time, when I now try to install it again from the regular way, I get a message informing that a service is already running and using the port 32400.

I have no idea of what I’m supposed to do !

THANKS !!!
It now works

Is there a place to download previous versions of PMS? The last update is what made my server unable to be claimed.

what do you exactly mean by “unable to be claimed” ?
when you installed the last version, did you first disable PlexMediaServer from your Synology ?

Will try a full reboot of everything shortly, but here is the claim issue.

Thanks indeed. Very useful hints. After 2 days of searching for real help your post is the solution for strange broken links in my plex installation . Great !

Broken links?

My installation scripts don’t create any symlinks.

Care to elaborate?
