Is it possible to use cast metadata field for personal videos?
Scanner: Plex Video Files Scanner
Agent: Personal Media
The names added to Cast field in subler are currently not showing up in the library.
8 years later - crickets.

Already used cast metadata field to add cast information to music videos and that info was picked up by plex. So now I was wondering how personal videos would work with cast metadata field. Maybe I just have to switch the agent to The Movie Database although it felt wrong to do this for personal videos.
Tried removing and re-adding the file but that still did not result in Plex picking up the cast metadata info I added to the video file.
For Movies or TV Shows it makes more sense to edit the cast info on https://www.themoviedb.org/. That way you and all other users will benefit from the updated / corrected information.
Users can NOT edit Cast and Crew in Movies, TV Show, or Other Video Libraries… and sometimes a User really wants to repair what Plex can’t seem to get right:

Unfortunately Users are NOT able to edit Cast and Crew.
Often requested - just as often ignored.
It’s been on somebody’s list for at least 8 years - maybe more - and being on a ‘list’ does exactly squat for Users looking at blank images where there should be some.
Going off-topic but have you looked at https://www.themoviedb.org/ for the content you are having issue with? Maybe best to create a new topic for your issue and discuss there. Add the setup for the specific library.
The New Agent may, or may not use TMDB for actor images - and I added Nils’ Photo (and a half dozen others) to TMDB about 6 months ago, it never showed up, I reported it - and YESTERDAY I got a message from TMDB staff wondering if the photo ever showed up…:
No… not yet (but I expect Bill’s photo to go AWOL at any moment):
Sure could use that Actor Image Edit Function that’s on a list, drinking fruity drinks with an umbrella in them on Aruba.
Without library agent settings not sure if someone will be able to help out. Had you tried removing and readding the problematic movie?
