HVR-955Q not detected

I just purchased an HVR-955Q USB Tuner to watch live TV. My Media server is running on a Raspberry Pi 3. When i go to settings to turn on live TV and DVR, I only get the option for DVR, (is live tv included?) The server is unable to detect the USB Tuner at all. I’ve confirmed the proper firmware is installed.

Please check the output of dmesg and post the lines that contain information about your USB tuner. The relevant output should look like the following info on linux tv [1].

Also make sure you add user plex to the video group with sudo adduser plex video and restart plex afterwards.

This fixed the issue, the tuner is detected by PMS now.
