plex suddently stopped usinh quicksync
ive reinstalled windows as well with no luck
looking at console its looking for cuda.dll when i never had a dedicade gpu only have been using is quicksync but now i really dont know what to do please ask me any question

please someone help i really
don’t know where to
look … i don’t wanna start a brand new server and loose all my data…
i’ve reinstalled windows and everything is great so it has to be with plex itself
hardware transcoding is simply never used anymore for any file i wish to transcode
not even live tv uses it
i need somebody to direct me in the right direction please
without the quicksync feature the server become too much of a resource eater … especially transcoding 4k… went from using 16 percent cpu on quicksync for 4k dovi/hdr10 remuxes to 40/50 percent with just software transcoding
im desperate please help

and that’s about all i think
The last two Intel UHD graphics drivers didn’t work with HW Transcoding for me, although I’m using a 10th gen Intel, not 12th gen.
I’m currently using version 30.0.101.1404 to get it working on the latest stable Windows PMS.

and with the old driver is the 10th gen working and stable ? or is it a hot and a miss

It’s been consistent for me. I have no idea why certain drivers break it though. It’s been finicky ever since PMS added support for 12th gen in 1.25
Also, I have added the PlexTranscoder.exe and PlexMediaServer.exe in the Windows Graphics settings. This is typically only needed when you have an iGPU and GPU, but it seemed to help with Windows allowing Plex to use the iGPU.
i did that changing the windows preferences even tho i don’t have an actual gpu installed o will try soon and alert u know
1404 didn’t do the trick ill try latest and oldest lol

Are you rebooting after driver updates? It’s a good idea to even if it’s optional.
You’re not the only one having QSV issues recently. A lot of people with 10th gen and lower iGPUs went back to PMS 1.24.x because of this issue.
There was a major QSV API change by Intel to support 12th gen and later and Plex hasn’t quite got it right yet.

this morning i tried with the latest 1.24.x but still QS does not engage …
i tried every available driver
so im starting to believe it is an update in windows itself ? i recently updated and i always do the optional updates too
thing is i can’t understand how it was working flawlessly not never even once … after a fresh windows install ? it must be one of windows update because before starting with plex i made sure windows was up to date …
im really down in moral and my friend i don’t know what to do
why the console shows plex searching g for nvidia gpu visa driver? do you know

i actually managed to get it fully working again in both decode and encode with any files any resolution ! all i need to do was uninstall the latest windows update which was optional upon doing so everything is back working again

Ah, I haven’t installed that update yet. Good to know in case the next mandatory update breaks it.
