I cannot manually change an audio artist - it just defaults back to the same name as before

As above, I cannot change the artist of an item manually. Plex just changes it back to the incorrect artist every single time. I have changed the media scanner, but this doesn’t work. Why hasn’t Plex added the feature, as with film libraries, to unmatch media? The correct item exists on music brainz but Plex doesn’t find it. What is going on here?

Please tell whether you have “prefer local metatags” active or not.

Please show the file names, the folder structure and the embedded meta tags.
For instance like so:

[dawes_alex_yahoo_co_uk]

Thanks - I have managed to solve the issue by changing the tags on the file itself.
