Server Version#: DSM 7.2.2-72806 Update 4
Player Version#: Plex Media Server for Synology (DSM 7.2.2+)
Since the latest DSM update in February, I’ve been unable to reinstall Plex Media Server on my Synology DS418 NAS. I’ve spent days doing multiple variations of the following with no luck:
changed permissions on the shared plex directories as shown in the troubleshooting guide (at the beginning, when they existed)
uninstalled everything, but the two folders remained, so i manually deleted both via root SSH commands (and the two @Plex files as well)
the uninstall option no longer exists, so i’ve tried to re-install multiple versions between the Synology Package “searched” version and PlexMediaServer-1.41.4.9463-630c9f557-aarch64_DSM72.spk through the latest PlexMediaServer-1.42.1.10060-4e8b05daf-aarch64_DSM72.spk. Both give the generic Failed to install “Plex Media Server” messages. Server logs don’t give any useful information.
I’ve spent literally days on multiple forums trying to find a solution.
Hello, I’ve been using the ARMv8 as directed by Google AI… oh no, I’m going to feel very stupid if this is the solution!
Because of the share deletions, the NAS is (still) reclaiming the space (24 hrs later, what’s up with that?), so it’s made all my drives Read-Only mode.
I’ll try to manually install the 64ver as soon as it finishes (how long will that be do you think?).
Unfortunately, I’m at work. However, I woke up to a beeping NAS this morning. Apparently the scrubbing failed and the volume is read-only now. I tried two reboots before leaving the house. Please tell me I don’t have to delete, remake, and restore from backup….
