I have been adding 4k movies to my Plex library, but I am not able to play them.
I am using my computer as a server, but these will not play even on my computer, movies will play for a few seconds and then stop. I use other players like MKV and MPC on my computer and the movies play smoothly.
What do I need to do to fix this?
For the computer, are you using the Plex Media Play app (and NOT the web browser)? If not, try that instead.
For other players, without knowing what they are and without the media info of the movie file you’re trying, there’s not much in the way of help that anyone provide…
As a none-savvy plex user, I just downloaded the version on your website for Pc users, please forgive my ignorance in this respect, I just know that I have to use Google Chrome to use the service.
I have no problems with my bluray MKV files and I have been enjoying Plex on all my tv’s around the house, as well as my mobile devices. The 4k files are all unaltered MKV files captured with makemkv and those are the ones I am having problems with.
For the Plex Media Player app for computers go here https://www.plex.tv/media-server-downloads/#plex-app and select your platform. Download, install and run that and see how it goes.
