Server Version#: 4.132.2
Player Version#:
Hello,
I have absolutely no idea about how to handle this situation. I have some warning everywhere and I don’t know how to analyse anything. It use to work
First I can give some context :
My Plex is installed on my Synology server
The version is 4.132.2
I have the life plex pass
I think that after power failure my NAS has reboot
At this point, i don’t know why, Plex was working only on my bedroom’s TV, after a week, things came back to normal
A whole moth later, same story with the power failure (I don’t have an inverter yet)
but from this last issue, nothing came back (only about Plex everything else looks OK on my NAS)
I tried to restart Plex, I tried to restart my NAS, and now i am lost
I tried to read it, but i did not understand anything
@TheLivingBubba, i am waiting for the log analize, but i explored my files to find if i have some backups. It seems like I have some files, but i think my problem is older than my older backup
Note: You can also simply delete the com.plexapp.plugins.library.db database file while the Plex Media Server is not running.
Restarting the server will then restore your server to a nearly-fresh install state.
(i.e. You will lose your existing libraries and need to recreate them, but you won’t be affecting your content itself.)
You have DNS issues: Apr 18, 2025 06:18:24.261 [140717302577976] WARN - [HttpClient/HCl#2bae] HTTP error requesting GET https://v4.plex.tv/pms/:/ip (6, Couldn't resolve host name) (Could not resolve host: v4.plex.tv)
Reboot your router.
Stop Plex Media Server using Synology Package Center.
Via Synology Control Panel → Network, verify the IP address, mask, and default gateway are correct.
Using Synology Control Panel → Network, configure the NAS to use a public DNS server such as 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare), 8.8.8.8 (Google), or 9.9.9.9 (Quad9). Synology Control Panel → Network
Synchronize the NAS with a public NTP server. Synology Control Panel → Regional Options.
Start Plex Media Server.
Wait 2 - 3 minutes for Plex to start.
Try to access PMS via the NAS IP address. For example, if the address is 10.1.2.3, use http://10.1.2.3:32400/web.
I was so focus on my power failure that i forget i tried to change my DNS address …
So for the record, i changed my DNS address to 8.8.8.8 has you told me
Out of curiosity @Schubby49 what were the DNS nameservers set to before you manually changed them to 8.8.8.8?
Also, if you’re going to keep using Google’s public DNS, make sure you set the secondary to 8.8.4.4, or use a different provider like Cloudflare of Quad9 as @FordGuy61 suggested.
I used my Internet provider’s (“Free”) DNS : 212.27.40.240
I dont’ know if I do it well, but, I created my own DNS server to “loopback” adresses. I don’t want to go to internet and get back to my server. So my first DNS is my local DNS serveur and my second one is (now) 8.8.8.8
That would explain it. If your local nameserver (most likely DNS Resolver or something) isn’t configured to forward requests for unknown zones, then any system relying on that nameserver for lookups would fail.
