I need the playback quality to be defaulting to the original quality. how can I do this?

I am wondering how to set/change the playback quality to “original” as default. Right now all channels/shows are defaulting at Convert to 4K (maximum). I don’t understand as a video and photographer you can never make a picture or video better then the original quality, you can never add something thats not there, so I don’t understand why its even doing this let alone the default setting. I don’t like it and my CPU hates it. Just need the playback quality to be defaulting to the original quality. how can I do this?

Go to video settings of the app and turn off Auto Adjust then change the Home and Remote streaming to whatever you want.

In the main Plex screen, in the navigation bar at the left, choose Settings at the bottom.

There is a section for Video Quality. You can change the quality for Home Streaming to Maximum.

There is also a section named Advanced. You probably want to be sure that Allow Direct Play is set to On, too.
