This is my first attempt at asking a question.
I got a notice to update to a newer version, so I did. When the new version uploaded and installed it showed all my libraries empty. Plex still works just like it always has, (I still use it to play videos and pictures) but I cannot add or change anything. It’s as if it is a fresh install. The shortcut to Plex on my PC that used to go to the old version, now goes to the new version. I have no way to access the old version where all my data is.
When did you last reboot your PC? Do it now.
Are you using several Windows user accounts?
I have re-booted several times, I am the only user. I have never seen anything like this. I would uninstall it but I am afraid I will lose all my data. I only did this because Plex told me to, I was happy with it the way it was. I have used it for 5 plus years.
Please export the Plex branch of your Windows registry,
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Plex, Inc.
zip it up
and send it to me per PM.
Don’t post it publicly!
Do also go to the log files folder,
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plex Media Server\Logs
zip it up and send it to me as well.
Do what!!!
