I really want to complain about the PLEX team

If the new feature is good, let’s not talk about it for the time being. Does the PLEX team not fix the error?

There are too many problems with the Android client Windows client.

Android:
1, landing interface In some cases, the position of the avatar is elegant
2. Each time you open the application, you will not be able to connect to the server and need to connect manually.
3, the menu order has been saved, in some cases, suddenly restored to the default value
4, double-click fast forward, fast rewind function must activate the progress bar on the screen, double-click fast forward, do you think this is a personalized design? Use the same player as youtube, don’t hesitate to learn the following user-friendly design apps for others?
Can’t quickly mask the brightness, is the real sound adjustment what the user wants?

Windows:
1, delete the movie, still exist after scanning
2. Press \ in full screen mode to switch to window mode. When you press , please try it yourself.

I don’t want to say that your question is too much. Can you advise the customer’s stability and do what you should do? From work to work, I really don’t know what you are doing. There will be problems with each update, and if there are no problems, the problem will be solved. Please don’t eat snacks!

Team updates are pushed each time the content is updated and the content is fixed.

There is an option that will remove entries from plex if you deleted the physical media.
SETTINGS → LIBRARY → Empty trash automatically after every scan

Thank you for your reply! I used to delete it locally and then scan it inside PLEX. He does disappear automatically! However, since the software provides this feature I think he should be normal instead of leaving a wrong logic here. I just want to express my knowledge about APP, BUG!

Bad idea enabling by default.

You can loose all your content in Plex if that feature is enabled and you disconnect from a NAS(for whatever the reason), network share(for whatever the reason), USB drive(for whatever the reason), external storage(for whatever the reason), or even a local drive(for whatever the reason),
If Plex does a library scan(or a scan takes place) and cannot find the media, it will delete the entries from your library.

So, this is something you need to know and consider when enabling that option.

The NAS drive I am using is not a USB external device. Therefore, when 7 * 24 runs nas, there is no need to unplug the hard drive. I should be very sure that I started this bug under certain conditions. And I suddenly thought of the usb problem you just mentioned. Even if I delete the local file in the plex, the plex library will show that the media is not available. At this time, directly deleting the unavailable media can be deleted, and it can be manually operated. So I am not sure what triggered this bug.

Probably so BUT if that drive fails and Plex can’t scan the contents it might think you got rid of the media therefor it will remove the entries from Plex.

I don’t quite follow you on your other issue though.

If you delete the local file, plex will do the following during/after a scan

  1. If Empty trash automatically after every scan is enabled
    Plex will immediately delete the entry from plex. There’s no way to recover* the entry.

  2. If Empty trash automatically after every scan is disabled
    Plex will flag the media with a ‘trash bin’ overlay icon. This can be restored if the drive/file is found again.

I am not a newcomer to PLEX. I also wrote a plugin. I know how to operate it. You may not understand what I mean! There may be misunderstandings between our national language issues! But thank you for your discussion!

I think Plex programmer will probably ignore your complaints.
U kown,
They gave up the Cloud first, then gave up the VR. Now even the NUC7i5 based on the windows10 system, the intel Quick Sync Video hardware transcoding can not work stably, maybe a big update of the underlying code can change some, I don’t know because I not a programmer, but don’t forget that all plex code exists for user needs.

I’m quite sure that @NewPlaza understands exactly what you mean and I agree with him totally.
Its an incredibly bad idea to have it enabled by default.
Its a one time thing to enable that setting if you feel its beneficial to your particular set up.
Either way the USB example is just simply one example of many setups for which having that setting on by default is a really bad idea.

There may be things to complain about in Plex land but a one time setting toggle, for the minority who feel it beneficial is definitely not one of them.
