I es referring to your previous response. If the album shows only the option to match (not fix match), that implies that they’re not matched.
Let’s have a closer look at that…
What agent are you using for this music library and how have you configured its advanced settings?
Any embedded metadata?
How are the files organized/named?
I have album covers, lyrics, artist, album name and other type of standard metadata embedded in each .mp3 using another tool.
How are the files organized/named?
My files are organized under a parent folder named “music” and then by a subfolder of either genre, decade (e.g. 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, etc.). Each folder has song files in the following format:
Can you please post a screenshot from the actual library configuration?
Go to your main navigation and hover over the library name
Click ... > Manage Library > Edit...
Open the Advanced tab
I’m particularly interested in the following information:
Scanner
Agent
Prefer local metadata
Assuming you currently get some kind of proper artist/album information and considering your folder organization, I suppose you have Prefer local metadata enabled. With the given folder organization, Plex would otherwise not be able to determine artist/album information as it prefers a different organization.
If the embedded artist/album information don’t match the naming on LyricFind, Plex might not be able to show you any Lyrics.
I suppose this might be based on your agent selection.
I know it to work with the `Plex Music´ agent. That being said… changing the agent itself will not fix any existing matches; it’ll only apply for future matching requests.
So… if your library is currently indeed mostly unmatched, Plex should attempt to match your media when you perform a library scan (after changing the agent).
If your library (or parts of it) have already been matched, those information will stick to their current match (referring to “personal media” vs. online sources). In that case it might help to perform a large-scale Plex Dance (making Plex forget it knew the media). Alternatively you could create a 2nd Music library (using the Plex Music agent = default) and point that library to the same music folder. Let Plex do its magic and see if you get your lyrics for that.
