I updated to last version and changed my password, now I can't connect to my Plex Server

Server Version#: 1.16.2.1321
Player Version#: 3.99.2

Yesterday I went through all my passwords on all sites, and changed them. That included Plex. When doing this I also upgraded to the latest version.

After this I haven’t been able to connect to my server.
I deleted all my devices, logged out and in again, but I have no idea how to log my server back in, because it doesn’t show up in the Plex client on the PC where the server is running (no Server or Claim Server “buttons”).

See “Signing your server in to Plex

You’ll likely need to access it from the same network, or at worst, same machine.

It’s the same computer, on the same network. The only thing I changed was to upgrade and change passwords. Nothing else. I have also done a “repair”# and subsequent restart.

The Plex.tv account you are using now in your browser has no plex server signed in to it.
Therefore I assume that your server is currently signed into a different plex.tv account. (there is a difference between the Plex web app, running in your web browser and the Plex server)

You need to bring your server into the same plex account.
Perform this procedure to achieve this.
Be careful to read the instructions and use the local version of the web app.
I recommend you to use an ‘incognito’ web browser window for the procedure.

It also appears that you have deleted the plex.tv account which you were using to post in this forum. So you might not be getting anywhere, unless you have a second plex.tv account which you can use for both the web app and the server.

I deleted Plex Media Server completely, including registry and folders as well as the account. I was also wondering if another account had gotten hold of my server, in which case the account must have been compromised.

Anyway, the DB is rebuilding at the moment, and everything seems to be working.
