Plex has the ability to be fantastic, but it just fails at basic tasks. I can’t get any of my movies to play on Android. Syncing music to my android device is buggy, and takes a lot of restarting the app to get the music synced. Now, photo upload is broken on android.
I’m so disappointed with Plex. I’m probably going to go back to Kodi, too bad I spent so much money on this. I’d love to get a timeline from the engineers about these issues.
I have already started on this Pathway. I have 3 Android 7.0+ devices and I’m unable to do any of these features. I’m going to test on my non-nougat devices and see if they work.
Having said that, I have no problems at all on my RasPlex devices (3).
On your Android make sure that you are not trying to use portrait mode. I had someone else that we finally found that he was using portrait. as soon as we changed that setting to landscape on his phone, all was good. Just something to check.
Thanks for the advice, however, I’m not going to turn off auto-rotate simply because plex can’t play in the background.
In the vein of troubleshooting, I’m going to try it, however. I still think this problem is related to doze. Does anybody know how to get support from Plex? Sometimes when engineers here from end users they are able to find solutions.

its not auto-rotate, i have that set on very device…
pick one issue, open a topic, give a clear description and title, “Not just I hate it” and supply logs…
I’ll make my question more clear (and add another), how do we communicate with Plex about support issues? Also, is there an “issues” page that lists current known issues and timelines for fixes?
