I’m a plex pass subscriber and apparently that should get me the preview release, but this process isn’t very clear. This page, here, talks about Setting Up and Configuring a DVR and that you must also be running the Plex Pass preview release of Plex Media Server. Then I found this link, that says I need download another version of Plex? So, I did that, now I have on my windows machine, Plex Server, and Plex Player. Maybe “Player” was always there and never noticed.
So, I’d like to try the DVR feature, but at a loss as to how to get assess to it.
Can someone assist?
The DVR beta features are now integrated in the latest PMS Plex Pass download.
Just download PMS 1.4.2 from the official download page
(make sure to ‘switch on’ Plex Pass Downloads)
When I download the latest version from that link, and “Repair” my current install, the version says, Version 1.3.4.3285. So what’s the trick here? Do I need to ripe out the old install?
You don’t repair you replace.
Most of the time new installs simply replace the old ones but sometimes, mainly for a downgrade, you have to uninstall before installing. If you uninstall be sure you don’t do anything that wipes all data and your setup info will remain intact.
