If there is no translated title from TMDb, please use the original title. Alternatively, please create an option to choose whether to use the original title.

I am using Plex Movie or Plex Series as my PLEX library agent. And I set my PLEX library to Korean. And since I want PLEX to always display the Korean title, I unchecked the “Use original title” option in PLEX’s library advanced settings.

However, many Korean movies on TMDb have blank entries for Korean translation titles. Because in TMDb, the translated title field in the contribution guidelines says “The translated title field should be left blank and locked when the translated title is the same as the original title. Please do not re-add the original title as a translated title.” Because there are rules.(Primary Facts - Movie Bible — The Movie Database (TMDB))

This is where a problem arises. We found that if the original title in TMDb is a Korean title and the Korean translation title is empty, PLEX sometimes displays the English title as the Transliterated title. In particular, if there is an IMDb link, the English title, which is clearly a Transliterated title, is displayed.
All IMDb titles are English titles with Transliterated titles. In other words, it is not the original title, nor is it the Korean title.

If there is no translated title from TMDb, please use the original title. Alternatively, please create an option to choose whether to use the original title.

IMDb의 제목은 모두 Transliterated title인 영어 제목입니다. 즉, 원제도 아니고, 한국어 제목도 아닙니다.

차라리 TMDb의 번역된 제목이 없을 경우, 원제를 사용하도록 해주세요. 또는 원제를 사용할 것인지 선택할 수 있는 옵션을 만들어주세요.
