hi first i love plex its just like netflix im also a premium member soon lifetime but now a few questions i have a question if i run the plex server on my phone with the wifi network from my phone provider just to run the server on the movie and tv shows importing i do on pc with the server lets say my home internet connections goes down but i have the plex server on my phone with the phone network provider wil my friends stil be able to watch movies tv shows then while my internet is down?
You cant run a plex “server” on your phone only the “client”…
If your plex server is at home and your internet goes down you content goes offline as well.
I would suggest you look into plex cloud as that does not depend on your home internet connection which sounds like is your primary concern.
ye but i mean my internet is not connected to my router on my phone the wifi of the phone network so if my internet goes one time down and i just run the server on the phone for connection my friends would be able to stil watch right. ?
If you are asking if you can setup “tethering” and have Plex use your phones cellular connection if your internet at home goes down most likely not as you need to forward ports for remote access and I am not aware of that being an option with “tethering”

Correct, Plex cloud does not rely on your internet at all, well besides adding new content but if it’s in the cloud it should be available!
ok thnx im transfering all my tv shows and movies to the cloud it takes a long time i was trying out one drive seems to be faster then dropbox. so if my internet is down and my sister friend wants to watch a movie at home if i invited them to the plex cloud server to all librarys i want they stil can watch?
Again, Plex Cloud does not rely on your connection at all if anyone you invite wants to watch.
But I would test the Plex Cloud experience upfront by buying a month pass. People have reported problems with Plex Cloud but your mileage may vary. It still has its flaws.
You also don’t need to upload your entire library to test if Plex Cloud works.
so i just need to run my server on my phone it wont cost anymore data when other watch movies tv shows via my server when i run plex server on my phone and the dropbox right?
