I receive error on plex tv app saying not enough cpu I am aware that this is because the files are H.265 10bit mkv and the wd my home cloud simply cannot handle this (on computer media server the streaming of these files works fine) what are the next best settings down to retain 4k HDR quality.

From all I can find, the WD MyCloud Home simply cannot deal with 4K material. So if your client won’t play it directly, you won’t be able to get the server to transcode it for you to a supported format (and with 4K, there’s a lot of client limitations requiring transcoding).
