Plex seems to have stopped downloading/applying IMDB ratings for my movies (I have the Plex Movies agent set to do so). I added two new movies, but neither of them are showing the IMDB ratings. I’ve tried refreshing metadata and even the “Plex Dance”, but nothing works. I can see in the logs that the movies are matched correctly, and the correct movie metadata from https://meta.plex.tv is downloaded, and I can also see the downloaded metadata includes the IMDB rating, but that data is not used.
this could simply explain why Plex isn’t showing them…
doesn’t solve your problem at all. but with this information and your input that the logs show it downloading the IMDB rating, we know the issue is in the metadata update process (or in merging the different results from various agents).
Most of the time IMDB rating is so outdated I wonder why I keep it enabled.
I guess the servers that provide the rating only pull the info once and then never update the rating. That is, if they work at all to begin with.
I know that a lot of people prefer the Movie Database ratings (I think these are form Rotten Tomatoes?), but they don’t really work in my case. When I was using them, I was getting a LOT of movies with a 10 rating, because there were only 1 or 2 ratings for the movie. IMDb at least has a lot of history, so I find the ratings more accurate for me collection of older/more eclectic titles.
So, I would certainly appreciate it if this was fixed.
