Okay, I’ve been looking through some of the reviews on albums I have, and I’m going to complain a little here. This isn’t Plex’s fault, but here it is anyway: I don’t think I like reading reviews of albums I’ve already bought. I’ve read several now where the reviewer made some pretty negative comments, and they’re basically pissing me off to the point where I’m unmatching the album in order to get rid of the review. I know, I can edit it and remove the review, but it’s much more satisfying to reject Gracenote’s association to the album altogether when they piss me off like that.
Why would I want to see or present to my friends, after the fact, negative reviews of an album of music I obviously liked well enough to buy?
So here’s my feature request: In the Plex Premium Music agent, there are already checkboxes to disable downloading of concert and popular track info. I would like an additional button to disable downloading of reviews. If this option is turned off for an existing library that already has reviews, they should be deleted upon refresh.
End rant.
