Import from iTunes Not Working

I’ve done some searches on this topic and it seems I’m not the only one who has had issues, but a lot of the threads I’ve found haven’t helped.

I have an iTunes library I want to import to Plex on my MacBook Pro running Mojave.

I’ve made sure that these things are true:

  1. iTunes is sharing its XML to external apps (I share it already with Serato so I know it works ok)
  2. The “Enable iTunes plugin” box is checked.
  3. The correct the pathname is filled out, pointing Plex to the location of the ‘iTunes Library.xml’ file…
  4. Checked the “Import from iTunes” box when first importing my library.

No matter what I do, the playlists will not import.

If I hit the ‘Import from iTunes …’ button in the three dot menu in Playlists after the music (but not the playlists) have been imported, it just thinks for second and then does nothing.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I could get this working? I upgraded to the lifetime Plex Pass so I could play my music library on my phone so would love to figure this out.
