Really need Plex to come through here…
Wife sat down to watch the new episode of the Bachelor tonight. It had already been recording, maybe an hour into it. Plex allowed her to start from the beginning by launching the show from the Guide (Apple TV) all is well until the recording of the show ended on time, she was still watching an hour behind and Plex just skipped right to the last few seconds of the show and stopped, causing chaos.
What then proceeded was an excruciating 15 minute (which is amazingly fast honestly for comskip) wait while Plex processed the 2 hour recording all while rethinking my life’s decisions. Plex finally added the recording to the library and we were back up and running.
So my plead to Plex and for someone to help explain if this was the expected behavior for Plex: what is the expected behavior for a recording to be watched from the beginning while recording, when the recording finishes? Should Plex continue playing the recorded show until stopped (allow it to process from there) or is it expected that playback will be interrupted and processing begins? Please consider this use case and if it could be possible for Recording playback while recording to not be interrupted once the airing is over that would be much preferred (this was the behavior of Windows Media Center)
