Hi all! First post here. I’ve been a lurker for a while and appreciate all the help I’ve gotten from this forum. But I’ve come across something I couldn’t find the answer to with a search.
Recently I’ve noticed that none of our shows on NBC are recording and don’t show up in the EPG. I investigated further and I see that the EPG shows the channel (4.1) as WACPDT instead of WNBC as it does in the channels on the tuner setup. So I’m assuming this is what causes none of the NBC programming to be available for recording and searching. I’m not sure when this changed as it used to work fine. I tried rescanning channels on both of my tuners, but the results stayed the same. I’ve attached two screenshots to show the EPG listing and the tuner listing.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi again. Three months have gone by and no one has come across the same issue? Now it’s new shows time and I can’t record anything on NBC. Is there a way to manually edit what channel the EPG maps to? I gotta do something, and fast!
@pbianchi84 , I have the same issue.
I have two channels correctly mapped in the DVR, but the EPG data loaded is for a different channel with the same number. I have tried:
- Rescanning channels
- Deleting and rebuiliding the DVR
- Deleting and rebuilding the PMS database
- A complete uninstall and reinstall with just the two affected channels!
…but the problem persists.
The end result is that while channels 624 and 143 are correctly mapped, no shows for these channels can be viewed or recorded.
I logged a problem on the gracenote form, but I’m not convinced that it is actually an EPG problem.
I had a look at the library files. The only file containing the text string equal to the channel names is the epg database, in my case: tv.plex.providers.epg.onconnect-3f753e0e-bccc-4eb7-952c-c30204585954.db. I looked at this in a SQLite browser and can see the channel tags in tables “fts4_tag_titles” and “tags” - there are multiple entries with the same channel number, including the incorrect one chosen by the EPG data download (which is the first tag in each case). In various other tables I can see reference to the ID’s 71 and 441, but it should be 73 and 442 in my case.
I hope this gets the attention of plex support!

I wound up just deleting my DVR and restarting using a different lineup (cable instead of antenna) and manually mapping the channels. This solved my issue, at least for now.
I’m not sure why Plex directs you to the forums for support if they don’t monitor it more closely. I appreciate the help and insights from other community members, of course. But as something we’ve paid for, I tend to expect a little more help from the source.
