Incorrect Email in Plex Pass

Somehow, I now have two accounts. One recognizes my server, the other does not. I’m sure I messed this up after an update. Here’s the two issues:

When signing in using my original username, and password, my server is recognized, but the preferred email is incorrect. When trying to change it, Plex shows; “Email is Already Taken” This is the account I wish to retain.

The second issue is; when I sign in using my original email (that should be with the account info above), and my password, my server is recognized, but my username is incorrect. When I try change the username, Plex shows; "Username is Already Taken. I don’t want to keep this account info since it won’t recognize my plax pass, and server.

Any help would would be appreciated.

  1. decide which account you want to keep
  2. log into the other account and erase it
  3. log back in to the remaining account
  4. if your server is now signed into the wrong account, change it with this procedure, to make it available again (not viable on nVidia Shield) https://support.plex.tv/articles/204281528-why-am-i-locked-out-of-server-settings-and-how-do-i-get-in/
  5. wait one month (Yes, that’s right. The email and username of the deleted account are kept “locked” for one month.)
  6. change username and/or email on the remaining account
