Why are the IMDB ratings within Plex different than actual IMDB ratings? My movies are continually scored higher in Plex than they actually are. Sometimes just a slight inflation, others quite huge.
Movie A) Plex IMDB 7.6 Real IMDB 7.2
Movie B) Plex IMDB 9.0 Real IMDB 7.5
My server is set to retrieve Rotten Tomatoes ratings, but it rarely shows them.
This is because that was the rating at the time you added it. How old are the movies you are looking at and when did you add it cause ratings will change as time goes on(and people vote).
Take this for a real example.
Hmm. No. That can’t be it. The rating is off as soon as I add the movie. I even tried refreshing the metadata and it’s still off.
Could be the delay in plex caching the ratings…
Imdb ratings are broken. They only get added when you add a new movie / show, never ever gets updated again no matter what you do.
Mine not only doesn’t update, but it gets the wrong rating right from the beginning.
Can’t be fixed. Only Plex can add/update the ratings, as they store them on their servers:

Obviously this CAN be fixed. But only by Plex updating their meta.plex.tv server, as this is where the ratings come from. No need for endlessly debugging your setup guys!
RottenTomatoes ratings share the same issue, in case anyone are considering changing to that, to solve the issue. So, not a workaround.
