I’ve not dug into this in detail but I’m seeing issues where artists are not being picked up correctly and the UX in fixing it isn’t as expected.
It is related to artists who have overlapping names. In my particular case “Marilyn Manson” vs “Marilyn Manson and the Spooky Kids” and “Pig” vs “Pig vs. Sow”.
In both cases the latter is being used for all albums, singles, etc. and when attempting to “Fix Match” at the artist level it doesn’t seem to do anything. Even unmatching and “Matching” correctly doesn’t fix the artist sometimes.
Additionally I have “Prefer local metadata” enabled and all of my files are very consistently labeled yet Plex scanning appears to ignore the data. At least the artist.
I’m having a similar problem and have tried the Fix Match solution - which didn’t work.
I’ve added a new library and the Composer is now showing where the Artist or Album Artist should be and the Album Name is not being picked up from the tag info. It looks like it’s being supplied by an external database, I would prefer that only the mp3 tags be used, How can I accomplish this?
