Incorrect Show Details in your Database

I just ripped the ANCIENT EARTH series from 2017. You only show 1 season of it, but my discs AND IMDB both show TWO seasons, so the scanner does not pick up season 2.

The Season One Titles are:
Ancient Earth.S01E01.The Permian
Ancient Earth.S01E02.The Triassic
Ancient Earth.S01E03.The Cretaceous

And Season Two:
Ancient Earth.S02E01.What Killed The Giant Insects
Ancient Earth.S02E02.The Mystery Of The Feathered Dragons
Ancient Earth.S02E03.The Dawn Of Mammals

I haven’t figured out how to resolve this or fix it. iTunes allows me to submit correct information, but you don’t seem to have a mechanism. How can we get this fixed?

More information on your end is required.

  1. What type of library are you adding these to?
  2. What does your folder structure look like?

Because you are referencing IMDB I just want to make sure you aren’t adding these to a movie library expecting to get seasons. TheTVDB and TheMovieDB are used for TV metadata, so those should always be referred to for naming and episode ordering.

I just added this to my test server and it added properly:

Season 1:

Season 2:

Season 2:

I did nothing special to get these to appear in my library. I just added the folder with the 2 season folders in and then scanned my TV library and the series added as expected and populated the proper metadata.

This show has almost the same name and only has one season.
Is it possibly being matched to this?

Make sure you put the date in the show folder

No, added them as TV Shows several days ago. For some inexplicable reason, within the last hour I forced it to update Metadata and viola, it now shows both seasons. Very odd, but thanks for the help!

The one time I had something like this happen recently, the router no longer had internet access and needed to be restarted for some weird reason. Of course, with everyone streaming away at our favorite shows it didn’t occur to me that the internet would be down and I kept troubleshooting, deleting, and trying different things but I wasn’t getting metadata from my rips of “The Unit”. Felt kind of sheepish when I tried to look something up online and then realized the issue was the internet all along.

Glad to hear it worked out in the end for you.
