TV program with metadata ONLY in the first season

Server Version#: Versión 4.55.0
Player Version#: Not relevant

I have problem with TheMovieDB metadata for tv shows. If I use TheTVDb, it collects ALL metadata with no problem.

If I use TheMovieDB, it collects ONLY the first season, the rest leaves me without data, showing only the date.
I have already tried everything, change titles, change location, etc.
Are there any known issues? Any solution?

Thanks.

That’s not the server version - it’s the Plexweb/Player (irrelevant, as you point out) Version - the Server Version is farther down the page under ‘Settings/General’.

Reveal the name of this show - so we can test it.

SorrySorry for the confusion

The version is: Version 1.22.2.4282

Show Name?

I’ll wait a min…

Also irrelevant, but worth mentioning:

When a User (those people Plex doesn’t know they have) shows up at the Settings Screen on one of MANY player apps the Player Name and Version should be shown, along with The Server Version in clearly marked items - so the User AND those wishing to lend a hand - know WTF we’re working with…lol

That’s on Plex… I’m anxious to see that show name - that can only come from you.

This is the first time I have asked for help on the forum. Sorry to be so clumsy.

Naruto Shippuden is the show I want to identify. The question is what I indicate, it perfectly places the information of the series and the first season, but the rest do not place them. Just posters.

About the player that I usually use, it is the official app for smart tv or PlexWeb

Plex is very picky with TV shows. Make sure you follow the naming standards. See Your Media for details.

If you change the file names/organization, then Plex Dance the entire show. FYI, when you add the series back to your library, it may be easier to add just a few episodes from each season. If Plex recognizes them correctly, you can then move the remainder back to the library.

Plex is working on a new TV show scanner. It is still in beta, but available starting with the 1.22 releases. It may provide you better matching results. If you try the new scanner, you may want to create a new library instead of converting an existing library. That way if the new scanner does not work you still have the original library available.

I have tried that new scanner and it does exactly the same as themoviedb. The first season he does it correctly, but the next season names it “Episode 1, Episode 2, etc.”

Regarding the names of the files, I follow the nomenclature that plex marks for all series. Previously it worked correctly, now it doesn’t. And it’s funny that TheTVDb works fine, and TheMovieDB doesn’t.

Name Files:

Name episodes Plex:

Are those MP4 files? If so Plex is preferring the embedded Title Field instead of your file names. Nice, eh?

New Agent:
Edit the library/Advanced then disable: Prefer Local Metadata

Old Agents:

Yes, I use MP4 files, but they don’t have any metadata locally. Likewise, I still don’t understand why it works with one scanner and not with the other …

And if I have to put the metadata locally in each file … it’s the same as writing it to plex.

Best of luck to ya.

Are your episode numbers continuing across seasons or is each season starting with episode number 1?

Look at this: Naruto Shippūden: Season 2 (2007) — The Movie Database (TMDb)

If you told Plex to use metadata from TMDB, then you won’t get metadata for s02e01 – simply because they don’t exist at TMDB.

TheTVDB on the other hand starts every season with episode 01: NARUTO-ナルト- 疾風伝 - Aired Order - Season 2 - TheTVDB.com

You will have to instruct Plex to use TheTVDB.
With the old agent, by selecting TheTVDB to match this show.
With the new agent by editing the show at its top level,
going to the Advanced tab and switching “Episode ordering” to “TheTVDB (Aired)”.

They don’t exist at TMDB?

Look at the episode numbers.

OK!!! Now I understand …

Thanks! i will rename the files. Thanks!

You can avoid the renaming if you instruct Plex to use the numbers from TheTVDB instead, as explained above.

I can’t find the option to make the change

Click directly on “Naruto Shippūden” to get to the top level of this show. Then on the “pencil”.
If “Episode ordering” doesn’t exist on the “Advanced” tab, it means you are using the old agent. In which case you use instead “Fix Match” under the ellipsis …
Then go to “Search Options” and put 79824 into the “Title” input field and select TheTVDB for “Agent”.

Ok, i try
