Hello all.
I’m trying to add a couple of episodes of a TV show from CBN. The episodes are from two distinct series (not seasons).
TheTVDB lists the series seperately, one as Superbook, the other as Superbook (2009).
My filesystem looks like this
/media/drive2/Plex/TV Shows/Superbook/Season 1/Superbook S01E12 - The First Christmas.mkv
/media/drive2/Plex/TV Shows/Superbook (2009)/Season 1/Superbook (2009) S01E08 - The First Christmas.mkv
Plex is combining Both episodes under the older (1981) series. I can choose ‘Fix Incorrect Match’ at the series/show level, but can’t do anything for the epiodes.
I have tried removing one or the other (really just chmod’ing so Plex can’t see it) episode and doing the Plex dance, then re-adding the episode, but Plex keeps combining them into 1 series.
Any help is appreciated.
Nevermind.
I chmod’ed both series so that Plex couldn’t see (700), did Plex Dance, chmod’ed 2009 series so plex could see (755), refreshed TV library, and the show popped up (incorrectly matched to older series). I then used Fix Incorrect match to make it match the newer 2009 series.
Then chmod’ed older series so plex could see, refreshed TV library again, and older show popped up matched correctly.
Still would be nice to know why I can’t get it to match the newer one automatically, though. I have it named exactly as TheTVDB shows, so I thought it should match…
probably related to this “bug” here:
Try renaming the older series and include the year in brackets, particularly in the top folder.

You might have to “Plex Dance” the files to get them to show up properly.
- move the offending files to someplace Plex can’t see them
- Update the library
- Empty trash
- Clean bundles
- Re-add the files to the library
if that fixes the problem, add it to the list at the above mentioned post.
