Indirect Connection on Android phone 5 Mbits?

Hello Plex experts,

i have already learned, that streaming of the plex relay server is limited to 1 Mbps without plex pass.
This is the case on PC, but on the Plex App on my Android Phone from default it says (DirectPlay - 5Mbps). And it seems to be FULL HD resolution. If i go to settings, Quality i can select Convert to 320p 0,7 Mbps.

So my Question is, why does “DirectPlay” over the relay Server work with full resolution on Android? Why doesnt on the Desktop App?

Thanks for all your ideas and thoughts.

Just because the web app is using Relay, it doesn’t necessarily mean that the Android app is using relay as well.
Did it anywhere on the Android app say ‘indirect’?

I assume that you made sure that the Android device, at the time of your testing, was using WiFi and that this WiFi was the identical local network as your web app was conected to?

Yes the Android App says that its an indirect connection.

No i am testing it from other Network, even with mobile Data so no WIFI it says direct stream.

I have to use the plex relay because my ISP is using NAT64.

Then I think the Android app is simply lying.

Have you compared what the web app’s Dashboard or Tautulli say about the bandwidth?

The dashboard says direct play 7 Mbits indirect as you can see in my screenshot of the dashboard. I am not in my private Network!

Nobody got any idea?

Pretty much this:

But the dashboard is also saying that its an indirect play with 7 Mbits.

Oops, I missed that and just saw the 7mbits which generally indicates it is not indirect (??)
