Just got some new ESET security software and now I get this indirect icon showing up when friends connect to my Plex server.
I guess it has to do with firewall settings, how would I configure this?
You have 2 options:
- get rid of Eset, as it’s utterly useless
- create all the firewall rules described in here https://support.plex.tv/articles/201543147-what-network-ports-do-i-need-to-allow-through-my-firewall/ manually

The default Windows defender and firewall are adequate for a non-expert user.
So adding ports to the firewall, do I add local and remote ports?
You open all the ports which are mentioned in the article.
The list in there is for a Plex server machine within a local network.
A “remote” port is only for the firewall in your router.
Ditched ESET no issues now with the Windows Security software
