So I have the original Battlestar Galatica and it’s all labeled right. The problem I’m having is that half the show pictures and what not show as the newer battlestar. While the other half is the original battlestar. I have no idea why it’s doing this. Any one have a solution?
In most cases that problem is due to the lack of the date originally released in the folder name.
The folder name matters more than the file names of the series and you also need to have season folders.
My naming is:
Folder: “Battlestar Galactica (1978)”
Then there is a “Season 01” folder
and the file names are like: “Battlestar Galactica - s01e01 - Saga of a Star World (1)”
This matches 100%
I’m having hte same problem, just started recently after upgrading to the lastest plex server.
Newly added episodes in a current season suddenly do not get metadata, while the episodes before did.
Other episodes are added as if they belong to a new serie, while the naming is exactly the same as the other episodes

But what exactly is the show and how exactly do you have it named? Without that minimal information little to no help can be given.
Bad or improper or even slightly wrong naming may work for a while but then it can suddenly stop working. Plex is pretty smart at detecting what is desired but the parsing engine and/or the data it pulls from can change at any time and poor naming can suddenly start or stop working.
f.e.
Filenaming for The last ship (metadata for episode 6 isnt feched while all other episodes do have metadata):
Z:\Series\The Last Ship\Season 03\The.Last.Ship.S03E06.Dog.Day.mkv
Filenaming for Aquarius (for some reason episode 7 of season 2 is shown as if it is a new serie instead of a new season while the other episodes are correctly shown. Also no metadata)
F:\Series\Aquarius (2015)\Season 02\Aquarius.2015.S02E07.Piggies.1080p.mkv
These examples are named the same way as all other episodes, only these newly added episodes don’t have metadata
I have the same problem for tv shows, no metadata.
Running plex version 1.0.2.2413
Reverted back to plex media server 1.0, problem is solved now. After unmatching and matching the tv shows who had problems, the metadata is now shown correctly
I’m on version 1.0.2.2413, and definitley now seeing random episodes of tv failing to download full metadata. (single episodes in previously working ok series’s).
