Initial Plex server startup won't connect & login to remote Plex account

Server Version#: 8227 & 8395
When opening Plex on Synology DS920+, the first time that’s done each day generates an error where it won’t connect to the online Plex system (the one that provides online movies & shows on Plex and music on Tidal). Also shows a connection error icon next to those menu selections as well as not showing anything on the Home selection (similar error icon). If I then close Plex on the synology server and immediately reopen it, those errors disappear and everything works correctly. I’ve seen this for at least the last two server versions and possibly longer as I didn’t track it as soon as it happened. Has been a relatively recent (the last few months) occurrence. Seems like the automatic login to the Plex system doesn’t work the first time, but does as soon as it’s retried. Any thoughts or fixes available?

Can you please provide the SERVER DEBUG logs ZIP file (the one you get from Settings - Server - Troubleshooting - Download Logs) … or from a ZIP file of the “Logs” directory in the PlexMediaServer shared folder ?

I tried telling Settings to download logs, but didn’t see it do anything, nor could I figure out where the zip file might have been placed. So I zipped the two subdirectories under the Plex Media Server/Logs directory on my Synology. They are attached. The Transcoder one is just all the log files under the /Logs subdirectory, and the agents.movie.log file is all the files under the /Logs/PMS Plugin Logs/ subdirectory. Don’t know if you wanted that last one or not?

Plex Transcoder Statistics.3.zip (721.3 KB)
tv.plex.agents.movie.log.zip (290.3 KB)

Sorry for delay. Was helping another user.

When downloading logs fails, you can always manually grab them

  1. FileStation → PlexMediaServer → AppData → Plex Media Server
  2. Right-click “Logs” → Compress to Logs.zip
  3. Download the ZIP
  4. Attach here
