Can't connect to plex server locally nor remotely

I am running version 1.18.7.24380f342a5a43 on a Synology unit.

That was a manual update to the latest version I tried just now, but it has not fixed the issue. I was on version 1.16.5.1552-8e8d0c785 until 15 minutes ago, which was where my Synology unit had last auto-updated to.

It says Plex Media Server is running on the host.

Looking through some of the other issues, I can tell you this:

I do not have iTunes linked to Plex so that shouldn’t be something that matters to me, I don’t think.

I can’t post any server logs since I literally can’t connect via local_ip:32400/web URL. Neither local nor remote has my server show up.

My Plex was working before, for a long time, and I haven’t touched any settings in months.

Anyone have a solution? Or am I just waiting for a patch.

I mean, you could try the nuclear option (backup the database first), uninstall it completely and reinstall it from scratch, then restore the database. See if that works. I’m not very familiar with Synology, but if an update didn’t fix it, a reinstall might

First, what is the problem? I think you can’t connect to it in the web browser?

If that’s correct:

  1. Sign out of the web app (Upper right corner under your avatar)
  2. Open a new browser incognito window
  3. Now open the syno directly http://ip.addr.of.syno:32400/manage
  4. This should present you with the login and way to regain control

If it does not;

PS: The installation on a Synology isn’t like a normal computer. “Nuking” doesn’t work how most think. It also isn’t necessary. The existing PMS installation can be “shifted to the side” and a fresh installation done without consequence for testing purposes if needed"

Thanks ChuckPa, I found my solution.

I was unable to access the ip:32400/manage as ip:32400 itself get stuck never loading.

I was, however, able to find my logs through your post and found the error that was showing up.
After googling for that error, I found an old post from 2018 that you had a few replies on: Server not starting after update, Warning: ex: boost::filesystem::last_write_time: No such file

I followed the fix there, which was basically uninstall PMS, reinstall PMS using the latest x64 .spk on the website, without touching anything else.

That fixed it, and my Plex is up and running again, thanks!
