Hi, I’m going to attempt to install PHT on my Steam Machine running SteamOS (based on Debian I think). I was wondering if anyone had any advice before I start. From another thread I found this page on the Steam forums explaining how to install apps from the Debian repo.
Is that necessary for PHT? Is PHT on the Debian repo? Once I get out of the Steam interface and into my desktop should I just follow normal Linux installation guides for PHT or should I more closely follow this guide?
As a side note, wouldn’t it be great if Plex offered PHT as an app on Steam?!? Complete with an interface designed for a gamepad and/or Steam Controller? 8-} (hint hint) *-
Wow, I had no idea Plex was still so difficult to install on Linux:

I could have sworn that in the past I used the “apt-get” or some similar command to install it rather than having to compile it like it seems I have to do now.
I read through the guide I linked to, but honestly I don’t think I understand what it’s asking me to do. Does anyone know of a guide where the steps are written out more clearly for newbies?
I may just wait until the full release of the Steam Machines (mid-Nov) to see if anyone else takes up this task first so I don’t have to fumble through it.
Ok, I actually just came across this helpful guide, so I might give that a shot first:
