Installing Plex on a Synology NAS

Hello,

I have a issue with re-installing Plex on a Synology NAS DSM 7-41890. I messed up another thing in it and didn’t realize I could fix it without resetting the device entirely. But now that I’m trying to re-install Plex I get a error message saying "This Package Requires DSM 7.0-40000(Update 0) or older.

I’m installing the latest version published on the site “PlexMediaServer-1.24.1.4931-1a38e63c6” which seems to be the version discussed here but I’m confused as to why it wouldn’t work or what am I missing.

Thank you for your time,

Synology model? The exact model is needed, including any “+,” “play,” etc. Example: The DS218, DS218+, and DS218J all have different CPUs and require different Plex Media Server downloads (ARMv8, Intel x64, ARMv7).

Which file did you download? Provide the full name.

Where did you download the file? From the DSM 7 - Packaging 2.0 - Forum Preview thread or from plex.tv/download?

Hello FOrdGuy61,

I figured it out just now when I went to look for the download again to give you the full name. I didn’t notice I had downloaded the version from (Synology) instead of the version marked (Synology DSM7) but the version numbers for both are the same including the “1a38e63c6” which makes it confusing lol.

Thank you for your time,
Rocketstone

P.S. I was able to re-install successfully.
