I do not know about server logs, server and player versions.
I do know that after updating my NAS drive to system version DSM 7.2.2-72806 It broke my Plex media server and now it tells me the version Plex I have installed (latest from Plex) is no longer compatible and Plex is now stopped. Must have something to do with them moving codecs off server side to device side…I do not know, but Plex needs to find a solution because I have my entire movie and TV library on Plex and its no longer available to me.
Synology now tells me I need DSM version 7.2-70000 or older for this Plex version to work. Bummed.
I went to downloads, and saw where there was a beta version for my NAS issued hust Oct 29, 2025 and thought I would give this a shot. installed and got my Plex server working again. Never had to do anything like this in the two years I have been running my server. So, apologize for this post, BUT, being here gave me the idea to go and check for other versions, so these forums did put me into the correct frame of mind.
Just to be clear, Synology made some packaging changes in DSM 7.2.2 and that has meant that Plex had to change the package to suit those changes for DSM 7.2.2+.
This has been the source of your Plex issues and from now on, you must select the DSM7.2.2+ version when downloading/updating Plex.
