I have been manually maintaining a collection of Oscar, Bafta, Golden Globe and Saturn award winning films over the last few years and I was wondering if there were a way Plex could do this automatically?
Plex already does something just like this with Oscar Nods, T’is the season etc but it would be really nice if Plex could develop these smart collections. Large libraries become quite hard to navigate and discover content within. This kind of extra metadata would help add value to a larger library.
There’s a related feature suggestion but apparently it hasn’t gotten all that much attention.
IIRC there’s some 3rd party scripts that’ll allow creating some regular collections based on stuff like awards – but Plex doesn’t have any metadata about it, so whatever mojo they’ve got is happening outside of Plex.
