When I create the collections for my movies, I then have to go into each collection & add the metadata for the collection using https://www.themoviedb.org/. Is there a way to have Plex automatically add the metadata to the collections, the same it does for movies & TV shows?

Plex will download metadata (poster, description) for automatically created collections.
There’s a suggestion to allow matching manually created collections, so they can linked with a collection listed on TMDb.
How do you automatically create collections?
You can configure your library to automatically create collections if you have more than a configurable number of their items (e.g. 2 or 3).
