Internal Access Issues On select devices

Hi All,

I’m about at my end on this; I have an issue where my local devices, TV, PlayStation, etc, 70% of the time, say my server is not available. I have to reboot the TV multiple times till it loads, then it works amazingly. If I try to load on a laptop on the same network it loads as a remote device. In addition, the laptop says it’s connected remotely, but the remote connection on the Plex server says it’s not available outside your network, despite my best efforts.

My setup:

I have a Ubiquity edgeRouter in my basement that handles all traffic and DHCP, My Plex server is directly plugged into it wich is a Windows 10 PC. My content is saved on a Synology NAS that is hardlined to the Ubiquity as well, and the PC sees the drives as a network drive. I have a WAP plugged directly into the Synology and then my TV, and Playstation are plugged into the WAP.

What I have tried:

The WAP is set up as just an AP not a router so no double NAT. I have put so many different FW rules and port forwarding on the PC and the EdgeRouter. Even shut sections off and tested, and tried process of elimination, but no luck. I have done bulk allow all connection rules, and it’s still an issue.

What can I try or am I missing?

Is your server set to a specific IP address in your router? If not, the IP address can change at any moment and the clients will get confused since it’s looking for your server at it’s previous address.

Yes, the IP for the NAS, and Server are static.

Next time you see this on your laptop, get the log from the Plex client and the server. Upload both logs here or pm them to me and I’ll take a look.
