Remote Access

I am having an issue with setting up remote access to my Plex Server. I have a Western Digital My Cloud EX2 Ulta NAS device. On the Remote Access page of the server settings, I am now getting " Not available outside your network". Below that section where it lists the private IP address and where you can manually specify a public port, the private IP address does not match the IP address of my NAS device. Is this the issue?

Any help would be appreciated.

Plex not recognizing the actual local IP address of a device is at least a strong indicator that there’s a deeper issue with your setup. Any VPN or other network tools active on that NAS?

Thank you for replying. There were no other apps installed on the NAS other than the Plex Media Server. I did have a Google One VPN client installed on my Windows machine. It wasn’t turned on but I uninstalled it anyway. I then accessed the Plex site and reclaimed my server. I was then notified that there was an update for my server. I installed the update and now the private IP address matches the IP address of my NAS device. Also, my folder mapping changed from W:\Wdsync\My Music to /shares/WdSync/My Music.

Sounds like you might have been dealing with two separate PMS installations: one on the NAS (which seems to be working properly) and one on your Windows machine.
