Hi, since the last plex server update, i’m getting the classic ”Not available outside your network."
I have seen and followed through the advice to make sure synology was allowing plex to read and write.
The NAS is connected through an ethernet cable.
I’m getting the same response also when i try to use my computer as local server.
None of my devices manages to access my Nas/plex server without the relay.
Has anyone else the same problem?
There’s also a guide with some more details on how to troubleshoot remote access issues.
I recommend you start by verifying your remote setup is properly working and visible from outside your home network (e.g. using a service like canyouseeme.org). While testing this, you should also verify if the public IP seen by that site matches that of your router’s WAN IP and the public IP listed in Plex‘s remote access settings.
I read the first article, i’m looking at your other ressource now. I can already tell that the public IP address detected by canyouseeme matches the one listed by Plex. I am trying to know how the NAS is connected to it too (ipv4), does it matter though?
That’s not what’s important. Both of those should match what your router shows as its public/WAN IP address. The concern is that your ISP may have you behind CG-NAT (causing a double-NAT situation).
So check your router to see what it reports for the public/WAN IP.
I am you guessed it not very good at this, so here’s maybe a stupid question: is there another way to ask the router what’s its public address than using websites like canyouseeme or whatsmyip?
