Server Version#: Synology DSM 7.0-41882
Player Version#: 1.23.2.4625-7000
When I try to install the new update of Plex, I always get the error code “invalid file format. Please contact the developper”.
I had this problem before and then I ignored it. Every settings are correct for what I can see. My shared folder has some read/execute permission.
Also the permission of the same folder within the file manager look correct.
Any suggestions to solve this problem? This is important for me because I always want my version up to date. Thanks for checking this!

If this happens while updating the app it not related to the permissions for the media folders. More likely you got the wrong installer package (e.g. if you try to install the Intel package on an ARM device)
FAQ 3: Which version do I need to download, Intel or ARM?
The answer is dependent on the processor your Synology uses: The package you download should be the one specifically created for your model.
The specific CPU in your NAS, and its model number, can be found in the DSM Control Panel -> Info Center.

I have checked this before and I have a INTEL Celeron J3355 processor. So I have downloaded the intel 64bit version with the first install. Any other suggestions?

Did you use the DSM7 package?
Yes. This was the package I installed. Everything worked fine and all the other updates worked correctly. Only the new ones give this problem.
I also have restarted my Synology DS2018+ and this didn’t fix the problem.

Please upgrade DSM to 7.0.41888 / DSM 7.0-41890 (official release)
