I often send invites to my Plex server to friends. Often these friends are not that tech-savvy. They report to me that tired old response “It didn’t work” and, of course, rarely elaborate. So I decided to try out my luck inviting myself, or shall I say another email address I happen to have,
During the invite process, the inviter is given a link to use like:
If I use that link I get:
How is this my own server? I mean it’s just inviting a random friend on the net. andrew_defaria2@yahoo.com isn’t even my email address!
When I do send it to an alternate email address of mine it sends the invite email but clicking on the I accept the invitation link just issues the same error.
I’m asking about this because I often invite my friends who are not tech-savvy and all they report is “that didn’t work”. I’m trying to understand this process so I can guide them to success. This should not be that difficult nor error prone as it apparently seems to be.
